Hey, I'm Lisa!
I am a small batch potter based in Anderson, SC and a teacher at Hollowed Earth Pottery. I grew up working with my hands, from building things in the shop and “sculpting” with my grandfather’s clay to gardening with my mom in our yard. This really instilled a sense of accomplishment and achievement when creating tangible things in our world.
I want my pots to be well used and well loved, and they are thoughtfully designed to help achieve this goal. The majority of my work is functional pottery, such as mugs, cups, and bowls. I like to experiment and have a wide variety from subtle neutrals all the way to illustrative design on my pottery.
The core foundation of my process revolves around craftsmanship. My pieces are thoughtfully designed, thrown, trimmed, and glazed in order to give the user the best experience and aesthetic.
Feel free to keep up with my work on Instagram @lisabishoppottery!
